The purpose of this fund, announced by Bishop Dietsche on April 14, is to provide needed assistance to parishes to mitigate their losses in two key areas:
- Plate and pledge
- Rental income.
- Protecting payroll
- Up to 20 percent of the total grant money will be reserved to support the ongoing sustainability of essential outreach ministries that are especially needed during the current crisis (e.g. food and shelter). These will be sustainability grants and will not be available to fund new programming.

This diocesan grants program is funded with a generous gift from Trinity Church Wall Street, and is made possible by the strong partnership between the Diocese and Trinity Church.
Committee Being Formed
The Bishop is currently in the process of forming the grants committee, which will be chaired by the Rev. Canon Nora Smith. It will be made up of people from every region of the diocese, along with representation of Trinity Church.
Criteria and Applications
It is anticipated that the committee will be formed, criteria for qualification for grants determined, and an application process created by the end of the week commencing April 20.
