Parishes Advised to Apply/Re-Apply Quickly for Newly Voted Additional PPP Funds

April 21, 2020

On April 21, 2020, the US Senate passed the “Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act.” This relief measure, which is expected to be approved by the House of Representatives and signed by the President later this week, authorizes an additional $321 billion for the Paycheck Protection Program (“PPP”), which provides forgivable loans to small businesses and faith-based institutions that meet the eligibility criteria. Of the additional $321 billion, $60 billion will be set aside for smaller financial institutions, such as community banks.

If your parish has not applied for a PPP loan or applied and was rejected, please consider applying or re-applying, as the case may be, as quickly as possible. As before, the enhanced PPP is first come, first served.
